Training Blog Summer '12
I've been training. A lot. Running over 100mi per week and biking 100+mi per week. I'm tired, but I'm in shape, and there's nothing in the world better than knowing that as you face your fall racing schedule. Been injury free all summer and have run some very good workouts early in the season. I'm looking forward to getting out and racing against some of the best competition in the world over the next 12 weeks. If God is willing perhaps I'll bring home some hardware. Who I Am...I am a physicist living and training in Huntsville, AL- I also am the assistant coach for the the UAHuntsville XC and track teams. In 2009 I earned my Masters of Science in Medical Physics from Duke University and in 2011 earned a second Masters of Engineering from UAHuntsville. I focus on trail running and am a proud member of PowerBar Team Elite. They afford me the greatest opportunity of my running career: to train harder than I ever dreamed. Nutrition is such an imperative part of a sporting life! On the weekends I work at Fleet Feet Huntsville, one of the highest volume specialty running stores in the country. Interacting with the customers is great, especially having the chance to dig into their needs and recommend products to them. |
